"My Father is greater than all"

John 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

If the Father is "greater than all," is not the Father then greater than the Son? How then can the Son be co-equal as in the doctrine of the Trinity?

  1. While interesting, I think your comment fails to distinguish between the ontological and economical Trinity. I'm wondering, in Christ's statement, maybe he's not speaking about the Father as he is in and of himself (ontologically), but rather economically, that is, how God operates in creation and redemption. Just a thought.

  2. The problem is that one can find nothing at all about three persons in one God anywhere in the Bible. The idea has to be assumed, added to, and read into, each and every scripture that the trinitarian presents to allegedly support the dogma. The Bible, however, is completely harmonious without adding the trinitarian dogma to the Bible.

  3. I agree, Ronald. The idea of the Trinity must be taken to scripture. It can't be found there.
